Better pack your passports girls, we’re heading to way beyond the *Boerewors curtain to Boersjiek!
*Afrikaans for sausage
My mom, sister, aunt, cousin and I decided to do tea, at one of Cape Town’s most secret restaurants, Boersjiek!
Now if you’re not familiar with the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, this may be a toughie to find as it’s cleverly tucked away in Brackenfell’s industrial business area Okavango Park.
The brainchild idea of Mother & Daughter team, what appears to have formerly been a warehouse has been fully converted in to a restaurant/café.
With coffee, tea, cakes and quichés galore! All the regulars you’d expect at a lavish high tea.
Only twist to this place, not only do they have separate sections of the restaurant laid out in different themes but most of the decor you see laid out before you is for sale!
I fell in love with the Tretchikoff corner and the divine Mandolin Lady cushion covers.
This is also a great spot to host kitchen teas, baby showers, birthdays – with wonderful decor and settings it takes all the hassle out of putting the part together yourself.
If you are tired of the city and find yourself with a weekend to spare, grab your mom or sister or gals and head to Boeresjiek. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Wow, what a beautiful place!
HI Ladies, it really is a treat! and not overpriced either, definitely worth a visit when you are next in Cape Town 🙂
Wow! This place looks awesome. Although I’m miles away I’ll have to visit next time I’m in Cape Town
Honestly didn’t even know this existed – will have to go check it out over the weekend 🙂
Whaaaat? There is life beyond the Boerewors Kordein? And if it is as pretty as this, then YES, I also want to go. Which brings me to….ahem, Jax, isn’t it about time we meet for afternoon tea? *wink, wink*
Isn’t it darling? So hidden away i didn’t even it know it was there until my mum treated me to tea. And yes you’re right darling Bea, it is way overdue we must rectify that! xxx
